SAFE Hair Transplantation in Turkey

The HALOSAVE package is a specialized hair transplantation method. It combines the proven quality of our transplantation techniques with a particular focus on preserving the donor area. This offering is designed for clients who require a higher number of grafts while avoiding excessive strain on the donor area.

What is the SAFE Hair Transplantation?

Unlike the conventional method, where up to 4500–6000 grafts are extracted in a single session, HALOSAVE limits the extraction to a maximum of 2500–3000 grafts per session. This reduces strain on the donor area, allowing for a more uniform extraction process.

After the first session, the donor area is given six months to heal before conducting another session. If you require more than 6000 grafts, additional sessions will be planned accordingly—provided your donor area allows it. This package is ideal for individuals needing more than 3000 grafts while prioritizing donor area preservation.

At HALOSAVE, we combine the advantages of both the FUE and DHI methods. The FUE method is primarily used for bald or larger areas, while the DHI method is applied to fill gaps and transplant hair between existing hairs.

Process of SAFE Hair Transplantation

1. Extraction of up to 2500–3000 Grafts

The hair transplantation begins with the extraction of hair follicles, also known as grafts, from the donor area. This extraction is performed using a specialized micromotor that works with precision and care. By limiting the number of grafts to a maximum of 2500–3000 per session, the donor area experiences less strain, ensuring a more uniform extraction and higher-quality grafts.

2. Transplantation with the FUE Method

After the grafts are extracted, transplantation begins. We utilize the FUE method (Follicular Unit Extraction) to implant the extracted grafts into the recipient area. Initially, fine channels are opened in the scalp using a specialized diamond blade, into which the grafts are then implanted. This method is particularly suitable for larger bald areas due to its precision and effectiveness.

3. Healing Phase

After the first session, a healing phase of approximately 6 to 12 months follows. During this time, the donor area regenerates, and the transplanted grafts begin to grow in the recipient area. This phase is crucial for the long-term success of the hair transplantation, as it allows the donor area to fully recover before additional grafts are extracted.

4. Second Extraction of up to 2500–3000 Grafts

Once the healing phase is complete, a second session involves extracting another 2500–3000 grafts. The micromotor is used again to extract the grafts with care and precision. This additional extraction allows further treatment of the recipient area without overstraining the donor area.

5. Transplantation with the DHI Method

Following the second extraction, the grafts are transplanted using the DHI method (Direct Hair Implantation). This method is especially effective for implanting hair in between existing hairs or increasing density in areas previously treated with the FUE method. The grafts are implanted directly into the scalp without the need to pre-open channels, resulting in particularly dense and natural hair distribution.

Duration of a SAFE Hair Transplantation

Surgery Duratiom

A hair transplantation using the SAFE method takes approximately 6 to 8 hours, depending on the number of grafts to be transplanted. After 6–12 months, a second session is required, which also takes 6 to 8 hours.

Advantages of a SAFE Hair Transplantation

The SAFE hair transplantation combines the best aspects of the FUE and DHI methods, making it the most advanced hair transplantation method currently available:

1. Preservation of the Donor Area

By limiting the number of grafts per session, the donor area experiences less strain.

2. Higher Graft Quality

A more uniform extraction ensures better graft quality and survival rates.

3. Flexibility

Additional sessions can be planned as needed without overstraining the donor area.

4. Lower Risk of Necrosis

The precise DHI technique allows hair follicles to be implanted between existing hairs, preserving the natural hair length.

The SAFE hair transplantation requires multiple sessions, extending the treatment time and spreading the entire process over a longer period. This may result in higher overall costs, depending on individual requirements. Additionally, the HALOSAVE method is not suitable for every patient. Our specialists are happy to provide a consultation to determine if this method is right for you.

FAQ SAFE Hair Transplantation

A SAFE hair transplantation takes approximately 6 to 8 hours per session. The entire process typically involves two sessions, separated by a healing phase of 6 to 12 months.

During the transplantation, a local anesthetic is applied to ensure you do not feel any pain. Upon request, we also offer twilight sedation to ensure maximum comfort during the procedure.

It is recommended to wash your hair no earlier than the 5th day after the transplantation, and even then, do so carefully. You will receive detailed care instructions from your treating physician.

Yes, it is completely normal for transplanted hair to shed about two to three weeks after the procedure. This makes way for new hair growth, which typically starts after three to four months.

The healing process takes about 7 to 10 days, during which the small crusts fall off. Full hair growth can take up to a year, with approximately 60% of the result visible after six to eight months.

The cost depends on the number of grafts required. A precise price estimate will be provided after an individual consultation and evaluation of your specific needs.

As with any surgical procedure, there are some risks, including infections, swelling, and temporary numbness. However, these are rare and usually manageable if aftercare instructions are followed properly.

Not everyone is suitable for a SAFE hair transplantation. Our specialists carefully examine your individual conditions and hair characteristics to determine if this method is right for you.
